GADATONIC
Illustrations by Colin Gaddis
Born and raised in the Detroit Metropolitan area, I was brought up fascinated by 80's and 90's popular culture, comics, music, film and TV. My love for drawing was sparked by all the entertainment a kid could consume. Growing older, I began emulating my favorite artists more and more unconsciously missing the point of my own personal journey. Becoming more educated about myself and the world around me, my values change and what I create fouces primarily on spirituality, personal growth, nature, health, identity or simply the human condition in an effort to become who I'm supposed to be in hopes that those who see my illustrations look inside themselves to be more conscious and allow themselves to become who they are and not who they think they should be.
Allowing myself to create what I want with a distinct aesthetic that's as true to me as much as I hope others are inspired to realize their own individuality in themselves. To avoid being beholden to the same ideas day in and day out. To be a champion of self reflection, growth and embrace inevitable change of our own perceptions and the world around us no matter how messy it is as I do so myself.
